BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhuanet) -- China has published its first picture book on human rights to mark the 82nd anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on July 1.
The book represents how miserable China's human rights were before the founding of new China and the efforts the Chinese people made in fighting for, maintaining and promoting human rights under the leadership of the CPC.
The photos elaborate on the achievements, conditions and prospects of China's human rights after the founding of new China, especially after the introduction of reforms and opening-up, in areas like the right to subsistence, the right to development, freedom of the press and the right to health.
The picture book also displays China's active participation in international activities, dialogue and cooperation on human rights.
The picture book, edited by the China Society for Human Rights Studies and People's Pictorial and published by China Pictorial Publishing House, features over 700 pictures in 336 pages.
