An Ignorant "Historian"
2012/01/27

The article by Mr. Færøvik in the Aftenposten on January 18 clearly indicates that he is ignorant of China’s history and reality. He even forgets a common sense of world history, that is, the divergence of national conditions, culture, history and economic development levels may result in different choices of development path. The development path and future destiny of each and every country can only be determined by its people based on the real situations. And China is of no exception. Because Mr. Færøvik is full of ideological prejudice toward China, many Norwegian people regard that he is least qualified to discuss about China.

To get to know a country, one should take an objective and impartial approach, and view it in the context of overall world. It is not viable to take a part for the whole. The same approach should be taken toward China which has a population of 1.3 billion. China’s steady and peaceful development is to the best interests of people of both China and the rest of the world. However, a handful of people do not want to see China’s progress and development, but the chaos and disintegration. They try hard to undermine China’s national interests and even attempt to subvert its state power. This is something the Chinese people will never allow, and something distasteful to people around the world who genuinely care for peace, stability and development.

Mr. Færøvik and his likes are trying their best to attack China’s political system, development and stability, and support and encourage criminal activities on China’s territory. A Chinese proverb goes, “a mantis trying to stop a chariot is overrating its own ability”. History has proved and will continue to prove that no one can stop the steps of China.
