Following the severe earthquake which hit Yushu of the Qinghai Province in China on April 14, 2010, the Chinese community in Norway took swift actions to extend their profound sympathies to the people in the disaster-afflicted area and render their assistance to them by donations. Until May 5, 2010, a donation totalling 217,000 kr ( 264,000 RMB)were sent to the Chinese Embassy by various Chinese associations. Some people came personally to the Embassy to donate the money in spite of their old age.

Ambassador Tang Guoqiang express his gratitudes to the Chinese community in Norway and said that the embassy would transfer as soon as possibly the donations to the people in the disaster area through the relevant departments in China.
