On April 17, 2010, Ambassador Tang Guoqiang attended the 47th Ridderrennet (internatioanl winter sport competition for disabled people) and met with the Chinese disabled athletes.

Ambassador Tang welcomed the Chinese athletes' participation and inquired about their life in Norway. He also extended congratulations to the Chinese disabled athletes for their excellent performance in the competition and hoped that they would carry on the "spirit of achieving self-improvement with great courage". Ambassador Tang wished that they would win more glories for China in international competitions and contribute to the development of Chinese disabled people's sports. The Chinese athletes were encouraged by the meeting with the Ambassador.

On the same day, Ambassador Tang co-hosted, together with other ambassadors in Norway, a reception for officials of the Ridderrennet and disabled athletes worldwide. Ambassador Tang talked with the guests about China'smeasures to help the disabled people and the disabled people's sports activities in China.
