On February 20, 2010, the Chinese Ambassador and Mrs. Tang Guoqiang attended the Spring Festival Gala Party organized by the Chinese community in Norway including Chinese scholars and students and representatives from the Chinese enterprises in Norway. The officials from the Chinese Embassy and from the Oslo City Government also participated.

In his toast, Ambassador Tang extended his new year's greetings to the Chinese community. He said that in the past year, the Chinese community in Norway has made great efforts in safeguarding the unification of the motherland, promoting the build-up of a harmonious overseas Chinese community and developing the Chinese culture. The Chinese community has also played an important role in pushing forward the cooperation between China and Norway in the fields of economy,trade,education,culture and science and technology. He hoped that more endeavours would be made to further the China-Norway cooperation and friendship.

In the gala party, Chinese artists from France and Norway staged fantastic performance.
