The Chinese Ambassador and Mrs. Tang Guoqiang hosted the Spring Festival Reception on February 10, 2010, and celebrated the forthcoming Year of the Tiger together with the Chinese community in Norway.

Ambassador Tang, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Norway, extended his festival greetings to all the guests in the new year. Ambassador Tang said that in the past year China successfully coped with the impacts of the financial crisis and maintained a stable and moderately fast economic development. China has made its contribtuions to the world economic recovery. Ambassador Tang spoke highly of the positive roles played by the oversea Chinese, Chinese scholars and students and the Chinese enterprises in defending the unification of the motherland, developing the harmonious community, carrying on the Chinese culture and promoting educational and economic exchanges and cooperation between China and Norway.

Ambassador Tang hoped that, in the new year, more progress would be made by the Chinese community. He also hoped the guests would visit the World Expo in Shanghai together with their friends. 

The reception was held in an auspicious atmosphere, with the guests toasting to a prosperity of the motherland and well-being of the Chinese people.
